What are the main features of the Proalp Contact S2 shoes, and why choose them for hiking?
Thanks to the deep vulcanized rubber soles, they offer excellent grip on the ground. As a producer, we stand behind their durability even when hiking in rocky mountains. The worn-out soles can be replaced with new ones in our workshop. How thick are the soles? There is a 2.5 mm thick basic sole, to which 0.5 mm of deep profile sole is added.
They also feature an adjustable strap around the ankles, which hugs and stabilizes the position of the feet in the shoes. Combined with the flat and thin sole, you make direct contact with the surface while walking, allowing you to fully enjoy the experience.
There are options for three different widths and half sizes, ranging from EU 36 to 47 (see the size chart on the product page).
The materials used are locally sourced and of first-rate quality. We also provide servicing to ensure their long-lasting use. The shoes are primarily made of impregnated leather, natural sheep wool, and vulcanized rubber. These materials are breathable and provide temperature insulation (they won’t make your feet hot in the summer, but keep them warm in winter), while nicely conforming to the shape of your feet. We also offer a vegan version made of high-quality microfiber, corn and linen fibers, and vulcanized rubber.
They possess all the attributes of barefoot shoes: your feet are completely unrestricted, able to move freely, and adapt to the surface naturally. There is plenty of space in the toe box, so you won’t feel cramped even when walking downhill. With these shoes, you can use your toes to grip the uneven surface you’re walking on.
Of course, wearing these shoes will greatly strengthen your feet, increase their capacity, and strengthen the muscles in your legs, spine, and entire body.
We develop and manufacture them in our own workshop in Slovenia.
