Our feet are vital for the health of our entire body

Our feet connect us to the ground and bear the weight of the entire body. What happens in our feet greatly affects the rest of the body, including the knees, pelvis, spine, and neck.

The footwear we choose plays a significant role in our health. At Proalp, we focus on crafting shoes that have a positive impact on well-being.

Here’s why proper footwear matters:

 Spacious Toe Box:

Our toes are designed to move freely while walking. The shoe’s shape should be at least straight at the big toe to avoid pushing it toward the other toes. It’s not just about width at the ball of the foot; toes need space to spread naturally.

 Correct Shoe Length:

Shoes that are too short squeeze the toe joints together and hinder correct weight distribution while walking.

 Wide Soles:

Soles should be larger than our feet, allowing the entire foot to step down without restriction.

About the Soles:

 The heel should be flat.

Elevated heels shift more weight to the front of the foot and alter natural joint alignment. While humans have adapted to shoes over last centuries, our bodies are still evolutionarily designed for barefoot walking.

Thinner soles allow better ground feel and are more flexible. Despite our modern world, our feet are still designed for walking on uneven surfaces. They are capable to receive information about the terrain we walk on.
