The name Retro speaks to the fact that similar shoes have been manufactured in Tržič as far back as hundreds of years ago. Of course, we somewhat adapted them, gave them more flexibility in innovativeness in the form of new colour combinations, while maintaining the extreme durability and spaciousness. They are made using two methods: flex- sown and glued in one shoe.

Retro shoes are made of best quality materials, which were the main feature of these shoes even in the olden days. The upper part includes the best water-repellent leather; in addition, the lining and all the reinforcements are also completely made of leather. Retro shoes are completely “breathable”, which is assured with our heel counters and insoles made of natural materials. Midsole and sole are made of light microporous rubber, which makes the shoe flexible. On first glance, the shoe looks robust, and when we try it on, we realise that the flexibility is one of its main features.

As is true for our other models, we create a large diversity of colours for the Retro model as well, which we combine with upper leathers, midsoles and innovative laces. You will be noticeable from a great distance with the Retro model, as the shoes look natural, durable, breathable and colour‑coordinated – which are the attributes that belong to a top-of-the-line shoe.

Features:

Upper part: leather;

Lining: leather;

Outsole: rubber.

By taking care of our shoes, we preserve their good appearance, durability, and resistance to different weather conditions. Below are some tips.

SHOES MADE OF SMOOTH MATERIALS:

  • Occasionally, wipe them with a damp cloth, to which you can add a drop of mild dish detergent.
  • When applying a new cream to the shoes, test it on a hidden area before spreading it over the entire surface.
  • Once clean, apply a thin layer of colourless cream or wax, then rub it gently into the smooth leather with a dry cloth.

SHOES MADE OF BRUSHED MATERIALS:

  • If they are dry and muddy, you can brush them with a soft brush.
  • Occasionally, wipe them with a damp cloth, adding a drop of mild dish detergent if needed.
  • Once clean, spray them with a colourless water-repellent spray, which refreshes the color, conditions the leather, and increases its water resistance.

FOR ALL PROALP SHOES, PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:

  • Dry wet shoes in the air, in the shade, or indoors away from heat sources.
  • Never soak them in water or wash them in a washing machine.
  • If you wish, during the off-season, stuff them with crumpled absorbent paper (such as newspaper).

HOW OFTEN SHOULD WE CLEAN AND CARE FOR OUR SHOES?

Everyone has their own criteria for this, but we recommend doing it several times a season.
